Not just London Midland shut on Sunday - Now it's the Jubilee & Met lines too

Residents in Watford hoping to travel to London by train or Tube will be sorely tested this weekend, following the announcement that London Midland are cancelling all their services from Watford Junction because not enough staff have volunteered to work.

Transport for London has already said that the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines will be closed for engineering work. These closures are the whole of the Jubilee line and Harrow on the Hill to Aldgate on the Metropolitan line.

Sal Brinton, prospective MP for Watford, said "It is absolutely outrageous than a train operating company cannot organise its staff rota to cover for a Sunday, and I hope they will be heavily fined for the short notice cancellation of this service. But the whole situation is made even worse by the engineering works on the

Metropolitan and Jubilee lines this weekend.

"Whilst alternative bus services will be running for some of the services, anyone who has travelled on them knows they are a very poor alternative.

"London Midland need to sort themselves out fast. This latest incident will infuriate the many people who rely on the service."
